OPEN ARMS CULTURE CODE
A disciple-making culture that starts with a heart of worship and lives out faith in community.
These five values guide how we show up—in our homes, in our church, and in the world. They’re not just beliefs. They’re how we do life together.
These five values guide how we show up—in our homes, in our church, and in the world. They’re not just beliefs. They’re how we do life together.

We start with praise and stay anchored in God’s presence.
Everything we do flows from a heart of worship. Whether we’re singing on Sunday or showing up on Tuesday, we honor God with joy, gratitude, and expectation. We take worship seriously—and we believe it should be full of life, celebration, and freedom.
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
Psalm 34:1

Prayer is our first response, not our last resort.
We believe in the power of prayer to align us with God’s heart, fuel our mission, and change lives. Whether we’re praying in our homes, over our city, or for one another, we cover everything in prayer—because nothing moves without it.
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
Colossians 4:2

We keep our relationships real—and rooted in grace.
At Open Arms, we strive to be H.O.T.—humble, open, and transparent. That means we speak with honesty, listen with empathy, and resolve conflict with grace. We seek to understand before we seek to be understood. We believe that strong relationships should reflect truth, trust, and a whole lot of joy.
“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault… just between the two of you.”
Matthew 18:15

Titles don’t impress us—towels do.
Jesus washed feet—and so do we. Being a Christian at Open Arms looks like humility, sacrifice, and lifting others up. Whether you’re on stage or stacking chairs, every act of service carries weight in the Kingdom.
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…”
Mark 10:45

We give freely because we’ve received freely.
Everything we have belongs to God—so we practice generosity in everything we do. Whether it’s our time, our talents, or our resources, we give cheerfully and intentionally, trusting that God multiplies what we release.
