At Open Arms, GO means more than leaving the building—it means living the mission.  Because Jesus didn’t stay still—and neither do we. We believe that every believer is called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world around them.

Whether you’re greeting guests, leading worship, making coffee, or mentoring youth, every role matters.  We don’t serve to be seen—we serve so people can see Jesus.

NextGen Kids

Toddlers–5th Grade

Create a fun, safe space where kids can discover who Jesus is in ways they’ll actually remember. You’ll help with worship, crafts, games, and interactive lessons that lay the foundation of faith. If you love laughter, snack time, and sowing seeds that last forever—this team is for you.

Walk alongside students as they grow in their faith, build friendships, and learn how to live like Jesus in real life. Smiles, signs, and Holy Spirit hospitality.

Be the first face someone sees and the first heart that welcomes them in. From waving in the parking lot to handing out a warm greeting at the door, you’ll help every person feel seen and at home before they even find a seat.

Serve behind the scenes with coffee, snacks, and thoughtful touches that make Sundays feel special. You’ll help create an environment of care and comfort that reflects the heart of Jesus—one treat or table at a time.

From Fall Festival to Youth Sundays, you’ll help organize and execute events that make Open Arms feel like family. Whether you’re planning logistics or putting up decorations, this team brings joy and excellence to every celebration.

Worship Team

Lead the room. Point to Jesus.

Use your voice, instrument, or DJ skills to help lead others into the presence of God. You’ll work alongside a passionate team committed to worship that’s authentic, anointed, and Spirit-led.

Tech & Production

Kingdom work, one click at a time.

Help create distraction-free worship through sound, slides, livestream, photography, and video. Whether you're behind a camera or mixing audio, your work makes it possible for the message to be seen, heard, and felt—both in the room and online.

Creative

Design with purpose. Create with heart.

If you think in colors, fonts, reels, or props—this one’s for you. Use your gifts in graphic design, stage visuals, social media, or content creation to help bring our messages to life in ways that connect and inspire.

Prayer + Care Team

Covering hearts. Lifting burdens.

Stand in the gap through intentional prayer and support for those who need it most. Whether it’s praying with someone after service or quietly interceding behind the scenes, you’ll help others experience God’s love and peace in powerful ways.

Setup & Teardown

Prepare the room that God fills.

Turn ordinary spaces into places of worship. From signs and tech to kids’ classrooms and sanctuary seating, this team sets the stage—literally—for people to encounter God. Every detail matters, and your work makes Sundays possible.

Volunteer FAQ

Do I have to serve every Sunday?
Not at all! Most teams serve on a rotation, which means you’ll get to serve regularly without missing out on worship or rest. You’ll work with your team leader to find a rhythm that works for you.
How do I join the Worship Team?
Start by filling out the Serve Team Interest Form. Once we receive it, someone from our worship leadership team will reach out about next steps. Yes, there is a short audition—but don’t stress! We just want to make sure everyone feels confident and comfortable in their role.
Can I try a team before committing?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to shadow a team one Sunday to get a feel for it before making a commitment. Just let us know in your interest form, and we’ll get you connected.
Is there training before I serve?
Yes! We’ll provide a simple orientation and team-specific training to make sure you’re fully equipped. You won’t be thrown in cold—we’ve got you.
Can I serve on more than one team?
You can! Many volunteers serve on multiple teams, but we recommend starting with one so you don’t get overwhelmed. You can always expand once you find your groove.
Are there age requirements?
Some roles (like NextGen and certain outreach events) have age minimums for safety and insurance reasons. Let us know your age or your teen’s, and we’ll guide you to the right fit.
